My 庭院废弃物 was in plastic bags 和 it was left at the curb! 为什么?
In Michigan, it is illegal to l和fill 庭院废弃物. T在这里fore, all leaves, grass clippings, 和 other 庭院废弃物 must go to a compost site. Plastic bags do not break down in the composting process, 和 create problematic odors. As a result, compost facilities will not accept 庭院废弃物 in plastic bags. You can place your 庭院废弃物 in either brown paper 庭院废弃物 bags or a trashcan marked with a “庭院废弃物” sticker.
Which holidays will cause a delay with my trash pick-up?
No service is provided on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, 阵亡将士纪念日, 独立日, 劳动节, 感恩节, 和圣诞节. Collections for those days 和 any day of the week following that holiday will be delayed by one day.

As a RRRASOC resident, you can attend any of the scheduled HHW事件. If you need to dispose of material immediately (i.e., you are moving), please 联系 our HHW vendor, 环境回收组主任, located in Livonia, at (734) 437-9650.

乳胶漆 没有危险. By not accepting it at HHW事件, we keep our costs down. 乳胶漆 can safely be put into the trash if solidified. You can do this at home by adding kitty litter to the can of paint. If the paint can is too full, you can splash some out onto newspaper to dry. Leave the lid off, 和 let it solidify completely. Once this happens, place it at the curb with your trash, leaving the lid off.

The paint can should say “乳胶” or “water-based” on the front. When in doubt, check the clean-up instructions. If it says to clean with mineral spirits or thinner, it is oil-based. If it says to clean up with soap 和 water, the paint is 乳胶.

What do I do with construction debris?
Small amounts of Items such as drywall, 窗户, 胶合板, 和 other construction debris can be picked up with your regular trash as long as pieces are less than 4′ in length 和 less than 60 pounds. Large amounts from contractors will not be accepted. You can either call your trash hauler or DPW to arrange a special pick up. Another option is to take your debris to a local l和fill. 需要支付费用.
